Ad Hoc Events

If you are able to come up with and administer your own Wellness Event at your location (think canned food drive, a cause-based walk or run, a recycling program, etc.), you will earn up to 3 extra Wellness Tickets – 1 wellness ticket is guaranteed, and you can earn 1 or 2 more based on participation in your event. If someone at your site has created an event like this, participating in it will earn you 1 Wellness Ticket. You will need to fill out the appropriate forms (below) to receive credit for these kinds of activities. Note that an event creator must receive approval from Wellness before the activity takes place, otherwise no one will earn Wellness Tickets for participating.

Please read over the Ad Hoc Event Rules and Regulations for more information

Ad Hoc Wellness Event Participant Application

  • If you have an idea for a wellness event at your site, simply fill out the Ad Hoc Event Creator Application and send it to We will review the application and get in touch with the appropriate authorities at your location to make sure the event is actually possible. Once we give you approval, you’re good to setting up your event! Please note that it can take up to two weeks for Serco Wellness to approve (or disapprove) your event – so plan accordingly!

  • How do we set up a wellness event?

  • Is it true that Serco employees who are contractors can’t participate in the wellness challenge and if so, why is that?

    • The Rise to the Challenge rules are designed to encourage participation by Serco employees who are full-time or part-time, hourly or salary, SCA or non-SCA, as well as corporate or operations focused. However, contractors who are non-Serco employees are excluded. Additionally, there are Serco employees who are considered “contract” employees who are set up to work with a definite end date of employment or who are called in to work on an as-needed basis. Contract and temporary employees are able to participate in monthly challenges, they just won’t be entered into the grand prize drawing.

Please note, the term “contract employees” does not mean “an employee who works on a client contract” as these employees are an extremely valuable part of Serco’s workforce and embody the idea that Serco Brings Service to Life.
